I selected this hostel based on the great prior reviews. We originally stayed in the Cybulskiego Guest Rooms (hostel) near the main square in Krakow, but unfortunately we left for a weekend trip to Austria and Czech Republic and they were booked solid for the dates when we returned to Poland. So, we booked this place. No comparison. At all. Since we travel regularly and are students we are accustomed to hostels, but this place was not up to standards based on the rave reviews. Don't waste your time or money here. The Good: Charming garden themed rooms that are well-decorated, and the location in Kazimierz is central The Bad: Bathroom had a clogged shower drain that they didn't fix so we couldn't take full showers without the water spilling all over the floor and into the rooms. Also the sink sprayed water out sideways. Walls are PAPER thin and its fairly noisy for a hostel. Beds are on the floor and hard to sleep on with sand paper sheets and towels. Breakfast was lousy compared to other hostel breakfasts at a comparable price. Service - the first person we checked in with told us one of our friends couldn't book his airport transfer at the time he needed because someone else had already booked it. The next day when we talked to a second person they said he could be taken any time and said it was no problem (???). We went out with a local friend one night and he walked back with us at 3:30am since the trams had stopped running and we had been out at bars. He slept on our floor for 3 hours and left at 6:30am to walk home once it was light out (didn't shower, use bathroom, eat there or anything) the next morning I was charged FULL PRICE for having a third person staying there!!!! Really?!?! Someone essentially hangs out for 3 hours then leaves and I have to pay for him??? COME ON. Will never stay here again. Ridiculous. Oh and finally, it is not a "youth hostel" at least in our experience since everyone at breakfast was 40+ years old and mostly male.

Nice location, very quiet, comfortable beds, good breakfast and very clean.

Rooms could be bigger although ok for the price.

    Superb

We stayed in Secret Garden's Jozefa street's apartment. Our apartement was clean and really well decorated. We liked the IKEA-look of the apartment and everything was really nice. Especially the bathroom was really good. We were happily surprised when we found out that the apartment was situated towards the courtyard and altough it was really crowded on the street, it was really peaceful and quiet inside. The apartment was really well situated near the Jewish part of the city and there were good cafés and restaurants not far away from it. We really enjoyed our stay :)

    Exceptional

We stayed in the 2-persons apartment which is really nice arranged and really spacious. The food served from breakfast seemed to be the selection of local food what we find great. The staff was really helpful.

The internet access in the apartment didn't work and the staff was unable to fix it.

    Superb

Very basic, but everything you need, clean, good location (10/15 minute walk from main square), very friendly and helpful staff.

Breakfast was a bit rubbish, but I wasn't even expecting it to be included.

    Superb

Only a short walk from the city centre with nearby tram stop. Helpful, welcoming staff. Quiet and peaceful with a lovely garden. Bikes available for hire as well as tram tickets on sale and plenty of maps and information. Real coffee for breakfast and a kitchen for making a drink in the daytime.

A small bar would have made it perfect.

    Fabulous

The hostel is very modern, we had a nice double room, with all you need, there is a very nice common area with flatscreen TV, games and free internet (2 computers but also free wireless) The staff is excellent, working 24/7 really helpful and giving you good tips on what to do and what not. The location is only a short walk to Wawel Castel and the city centre. Breakfast is also very good for a hostel. Really recommend this.

The walls are very thin, so you will hear when your neighbours talk in the room. But it didn't bother us much, from 10pm-7am there is a "Quite Time" and everybody seemed to respect that.

    Exceptional

Really friendly, helpful staff who speak good English, great location, good facilities including access to cooking factilites and free tea and coffee. Nice buffet breakfast every morning. The rooms were basic but comfortable and the hostel is 10 mins walk from the Wawel castle and centre of Krakow. Overall, it was quiet, comfortable and welcoming - we really enjoyed our stay there and would definitely recommend it.
